Don’t throw away your pumpkins after Halloween, compost them instead!

Residents of New Hope, Crystal, Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center residents who do not have a backyard compost bin or an organics recycling cart can utilize free pumpkin drop-off containers from Nov. 1 to Nov. 10.

The drop-off locations are:

  • New Hope Church, 4225 Gettysburg Ave N
  • Central Park (across from Brooklyn Park’s Operations & Maintenance facility), 8300 Noble Ave N

Pumpkins are also accepted at the Maple Grove Yard Waste Site. Please make sure to remove all candles, wax and decorations before dropping off your pumpkins.

All collected pumpkins will be composted and transformed into nutrient-rich soil to help keep our landscapes healthy and thriving.
