New Hope Ice Arena to Host Open Skate and a Movie

Start 2026 on the ice! The New Hope Ice Arena invites the community to celebrate the new year with Open Skate and a Movie on Friday, Jan. 2. The fun begins with an open skating session from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., followed by a free showing of the family favorite “Moana 2” at noon.

Skaters of all ages and abilities are welcome. Admission is $6 per person, and rental skates are available on-site for $4 per pair.

Not a skater? No problem! You don’t need to attend open skate to enjoy the free movie. Find a spot in the bleachers and catch the film on a jumbo screen right on the ice. Be sure to dress warmly and bring a blanket if you’d like. Concessions will be available for purchase, and the movie is generously sponsored by the Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey Association.
