Performance Center

The New Hope Performance Center is located at 4401 Xylon Ave N (just west of the New Hope Aquatic Park). The performancefront of performance center center hosts music in the park, city programs and special events, and is home to the Off Broadway Musical Theatre.

Storytime in Cuentos del Mundo: World Stories in Espanol and English - Tuesday, July 20kangaroo puppet

Youth ages 2-6 with an adult, join Cuentacuentos (Storyteller) Katie Knutson and her puppet friends as they explore cuentos (short stories) from around the world. This lively storyteller will have you and your niños (children) speaking in both Spanish and English as you move and laugh through canciones y stories from otras culturas del mundo.

In order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, children are toxic to monsters, and after a child gets through, two monsters realize things may not be what they seem. Rated G. Movie sponsored by West Metro Fire Rescue Auxiliary.

Acting Camps for Kids

*Due to a schedule conflict, Acting Camp will be held at the Becker Park Stage in Crystal.

Participants will develop as actors by learning a script and preparing for a performance. On Friday, August 6 at 7 p.m., they will put on a performance for family and friends complete with costumes, props, makeup and scenery. Instructor is Linda Bruning, who is assisted by Cyan Pampuch.

New Hope Summer Theatre
Off Broadway Musical Theatre will present "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" this summer. It's the tale of six awkward youngsters vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime, all the while hoping never to hear the soul-crushing "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. 

  • Thursdays-Saturdays, July 22-August 7 (American Sign Language date is August 6)
  • 8 p.m.
  • A free will donation of $4 per person is suggested to help cover the cost of production. Food shelf donations for PRISM will also be accepted.
