Temporary Permit to Purchase Procedure

Our department will be handling the Minnesota permit to purchase transfer applications in the following manner during the mandated closures.

 

Permits will be accepted via US mail to the Police Department address 4401 Xylon Ave N New Hope MN 55428  Attn: Gun Permit

Or via email to nh-pdoffice@newhopemn.gov  Attn: Gun Permit

 

Applications must be fully completed. Each line must have a response if it does not apply “N/A” or “NONE” should be entered. There are four signature lines, they must all have a signature or the application will be returned as incomplete.

 

Once your permit is completed you will be contacted at the number you provide to set up an appointment for pick up. Pick up times will fall M-F between the hours of 11a-6p and will be by appointment only.  You must have your photo identification to pick up your permit. The address on your ID and permit must match. If addresses do not match only a signed lease or utility bill with the matching address will be accepted as verification for residency. We also ask in an effort to minimize contact that you bring along a pen as you will need to sign your permit upon receipt.

 

We will do our best to process the applications and have permits returned within 7 days of receipt. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these uncertain times with limited office staff.
