New Hope Sponsors Food, Toy and Coat Drives
Posted on 11/17/2023
City of New Hope employees are sponsoring holiday food, toy and winter coat drives to benefit local community members.
Food Drive
Food items are collected at New Hope City Hall all year; however, larger drives occur in time for the holidays. Collected donations will be delivered to the North Suburban Emergency Response (NEAR) food shelf in time for Thanksgiving, with a second collection of items delivered in late December.
Unopened, nonperishable food items, cash or checks payable to “NEAR” are accepted. Please ensure that donations are not past their “use by” date.
Toy Drive
The New Hope Police Department accepts donations of new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages and cash, check and gift card donations for the holiday toy drive. The deadline for donations is Dec. 15. Donations will be distributed to local organizations and used for the department’s annual Blue Santa event.
Coat Drive
The New Hope Police Department is collecting new or gently used coats in all sizes. Officers will deliver donations to the Salvation Army for distribution. Coat donations may be dropped off through Nov. 30.
Food Drive donations may be placed in the collection bin at New Hope City Hall. City Hall is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both toy and coat donations may be dropped off in the police station lobby Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
