It was history in the making on evening of Monday, July 22 as the first New Hope City Council meeting was held at the new city hall council chambers.

A full replay of the council meeting can be viewed here.

The planning for the new city hall began in 2013 when a study by Wold Architects determined that New Hope needed a building with twice the 26,740 square feet of the old city hall. The new city hall/police station achieved that and then some with a final size of 66,000 square feet.

Monday's council meeting marks another first as normal business continues at the new city hall. However, residents and businesses should continue being aware that much construction work continues around the building, and those visiting the facility over the next few weeks should enter at the police station. Signs are in place to help guide visitors.
