Jaycee Park Playground Project

photo of new play equipmentJaycee Park, located at 3028 Independence Circle, was updated with new playground equipment in the summer of 2019.

The project involved the replacement of the playground equipment container, improvements to the short trail from Independence Circle, the addition of a picnic table with shade structure, a new bench, and a new park sign.

The playground at this park was last replaced in 1994 and was the oldest in the park system. Planning started in the fall of 2018, and a survey was sent to Jaycee Park neighbors asking for their input on new equipment, and if they had any interest in being a part of the planning committee. Planning meetings were held in early 2019. In March of 2019, the City Council approved the plans and specifications for the project and in April of 2019, the Council awarded the site work bid to Sunram Construction and the playground equipment bid to Flagship Recreation and Landscape Structures.
