West Metro Fire-Rescue District
Neighbors Serving Neighbors
The West Metro Fire-Rescue District provides fire services to the communities of New Hope and Crystal through a joint powers agreement.
After over six years of study, discussions, consultant reports and special legislation, the district was established in July 1998 to provide a more efficient delivery system to eliminate duplication while reducing and stabilizing future budget costs.
The West Metro Fire-Rescue District is committed to providing quality fire, security, and safety services to all people and businesses within New Hope and Crystal. Emergency response services are provided by 66 on-call firefighters responding from three fire stations. The district strives to respond to all emergencies in a timely manner, provide competent and well-trained personnel, treat all customers with respect, and provide value through fire services.
The West Metro Fire-Rescue District provides emergency response to fire situations, specialized rescue and emergency medical support. The district also provides fire prevention services, including inspections and public fire safety education, throughout the district.
Since the start of the joint operations, the district has been able to reduce response times to targeted areas of the district while increasing the number of daytime available firefighters responding to emergencies.
The West Metro Fire Board meets quarterly at the New Hope Fire Station. For meeting notices, agendas and minutes, visit the Board of Directors section of West Metro's website.
