The city hires a contractor to sweep all city streets in the spring and fall of each year.
Street sweeping is a cost-effective way to reduce stormwater pollution in New Hope. An effective street sweeping program can remove several tons of debris each year from city streets. Spring street sweeping also reduces pollutants in stormwater runoff from road salt, sand, and grit. And, street sweeping helps New Hope's neighborhoods look there best.
Spring street sweeping begins in about mid-April and fall street sweeping begins in about mid-October depending upon weather conditions.
