All city streets are designated as five ton per axle roads except for those streets listed in city ordinance 6.021 which are of nine ton per axle design. The City Council has adopted State Statute 169.80 through 169.88.

The city of New Hope follows seasonal load limits adopted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.See Mn/DOT’s seasonal load limit page or call 651-366-5400 for more information. The seasonal time frame may be modified and a special permit may be issued if deemed necessary by city staff for the "public good."
