New Hope built an outdoor theatre in Civic Center Park, just west of New Hope City Hall, in 1986. The theatre, which is handicap accessible, has bleacher seating for about 450. Parking is available in the City Hall parking lot.

Movies in the Park

Enjoy an evening movie on a jumbo screen at Civic Center Park! Bleacher seating available, limited blanket seating available. Concessions will be available for purchase. Movie start times are approximate. Sponsored in part by the New Hope Lions and the New Hope Women of Today.

"The Secret Life of Pets" - Friday, June 23

Two mismatched mutts get lost in New York City due to their feuding, and must find their way home. During their journey, they encounter a vicious bunny who plans to lead a group of abandoned pets on a mission of revenge against humanity. Rated PG. This move is sponsored by West Metro Fire Auxiliary. Start time 9:15 p.m.

"Finding Dory" - Friday, July 14

Amnesiac blue tang Dory searches for her long-lost parents with the help of pals Nemo and Marlin. She eventually heads for the Monterey Marine Life Institute, evading predators along the way, as she hopes to find a place she can call home. Rated PG. This movie is sponsored by the New Hope Lions. Start time 9:15 p.m.

"Pete's Dragon" - Friday, August 25

A re-imagining of Disney's cherished family film, "Pete's Dragon" is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just happens to be a dragon. Rated PG. This movie is sponsored by the New Hope Women of Today. Start time 8:15 p.m.

2017 Outdoor Theatre Production - "Beauty and the Beast"

The Off Broadway Musical Theatre (OBMT) has collaborated with the city of New Hope to present a major musical with full costumes, orchestras, sets and lighting every summer since 1978. Witness the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast's hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. Note: unattended chairs or blankets will be removed from the bleacher area. American Sign Language date will be August 4; rain make-up August 5.
