Perhaps the economy has you thinking that you are better off making improvements to your existing home rather than looking for a new one. Or, maybe you want to take advantage of the home tax credit for energy efficiency improvements that is part of the recently adopted economic stimulus package. If you are thinking about a home improvement project, the 18th annual Northwest Suburban Remodeling Fair is a great place to start.
The Remodeling Fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the Crystal Community Center, 4800 Douglas Drive. The event will feature about 80 booths with local contractors and home improvement businesses. And, about a dozen 45-minute “how-to” workshops are scheduled on a variety of topics.
Representatives from the cities’ police, fire, and building departments will be on hand to answer questions and local codes and ordinances and public safety concerns, and provide tips for working with contractors. There will even be registered architects at the “Ask the Experts” booth to assist visitors with design solutions for their home.
