Hope Grows LogoHope Grows is a community-based organization run by a volunteer board and sponsored by the city of New Hope. 2011 is the community gardens first growing season. Funding from Active Living Hennepin County and Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP) helped the garden get started. Emergency Foodshelf Network (EFN) is leasing the land for the garden to Hope Grows for $1 a month.

The garden includes 24 individual plots available to local gardeners who want to grow fresh produce for their families. In addition, six communal lots are reserved for area organizations and groups to use as a service project to raise fresh fruits and vegetables for programs at EFN and other non-profit organizations. The price for a plot, which measures about 10 feet by 12 feet, is $20 for the growing season. Water is available on site. Plot requests from residents are honored on a first-come, first-served basis.
